Wet Vent Floor Drain

All the faucets and water appliances in a house use this same system of drains pipes and vents.

For a wet vent the vent should enter the drain line at a minimum of a 45 degree angle. A plumbing tee is a drain pipe connection that joins a horizontal well sloped 1 4 per foot but roughly horizontal drain or vent pipe to the vertical vent or wet vent drain pipe. The same holds true for plumbing vent pipe. The true vent is aligned vertically and attaches to your drain line through the roof.

Through the stack sewer gases are carried up to the roof through vent lines. This is best implemented if a fixture rests close to the stack and the top floor of your home allowing the stack to serve as a vent. As water goes down a drain air is needed to equalize the pressure in the drain line. The wet vent shall be considered the vent for the fixtures and shall extend from the connection of the dry vent along the direction of the flow in the drain pipe to the most downstream fixture drain connection to the horizontal branch drain.

The angle in which your wet vet connects to a horizontal drain is very specific. True vents also have no water running through them. The 3rd wet vent example given in your wet venting discussion is exactly the layout except that the wet vent sink drain. But i think that your inspector says that plumbing vent tee connections like those i show in our illustration are installed upside down so that water down a wet.

I am wondering if i can cut and reroute this upstairs sink drain down the basement wall and under the floor using 2 inch abs and tying the basement shower into it as wet vent drain before it ties into main drain. This is the purpose of a venting system.
